The New Testament recounts the lineage of Jesus in order to establish his right to rule as king, as well as his right to redeem as Messiah. That lineage is fat and stacked with the male perspective. Quite frankly, its obnoxious that those are the stories that get the most play.
In that aforementioned lineage, five women are listed. In story order we have Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, and Mary Mother of Jesus. Every single one of their stories drips with scandal, grace, and bad-assery.
